The department offers Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology course comprising of Unit I, Unit II, Unit III and Unit IV to 3rd year B.V.Sc. & A.H. students as per MSVE 2016 guidelines. The course is of 3+1 credit hours and currently 75 students of third year B.V.Sc. & A.H. are enrolled in this course.
Post Graduate Degree Courses
The department offers Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology. The postgraduate programmes in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology focuses on epidemiological studies on commonly prevalent diseases of animals in the state of Haryana, prevention and management of zoonoses and animal health economics. Aside from a general understanding of disease control and prevention, the students learn how to develop and implement methods and strategies for surveillance and risk assessment, disease control, prevention, and eradication in production animals, and how to assess the economic consequences of control strategies.
Currently nine students are persuing M.V.Sc. and three students are enrolled in Ph.D. programme of department.

The department offers two courses i.e. Occupational Hazards and Environmental Management (1+1) and Zoonosis, Public Health and Epidemiology (1+1) to the first year students of two year Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Technology (DVLT) course.
The various aspects of environment and its components; soil, water air and noise pollution; global warming; climate change, natural disasters; emerging diseases and their management strategies; solid waste management; legislations to protect environment; basic epidemiology; data representation; collection, preservation and dispatch of specimens; animal associated injuries, zoonosis, hygienic milk and meat products; bacteriological examination of milk, meat, air and sewage; cleaning, sterilization and disinfection in food establishments etc. are taught to the diploma students.
