About Department

The Department of Veterinary Parasitology is carrying mainly three activities i.e. Teaching, Research and Extension. In teaching, various courses on parasitic diseases of domestic animals and birds are being taught to the undergraduate as well as post graduate students to award their degree program. For post-graduate students viz both M.V.Sc. and Ph.D are being guided and respective degrees are being awarded. In research, various research activities are being carried mainly in three sub-discipline i.e. Vety. helminthology, Vety. entomology and Vety. protozoology. The prevalence, pathogenicity, treatment and control of various parasitic diseases are also being explored and the suitable drugs as well as other preventive measures are being recommended for field use. In extension, participation in kisan mela is being carried by the department every year and the queries of the farmers at the stall as well as in the buzz session are being attended. Various clinical camps are being attended/ organized for the control of parasitic diseases in different nearby villages. The general awareness regarding the seasonal occurrence, deworming schedule etc is also being imparted to the farmers. Various radio and TV talks on most commonly occurring parasitic diseases of domestic animals and birds are also delivered from time to time. Lectures are delivered in training to farmers, women, veterinarians and army persons. Popular articles are published in various state and national level magazines.

पशुरोग विज्ञान विभाग मुख्य रूप से तीन गतिविधियों का पालन कर रहा है, जैसे शिक्षण, अनुसंधान और प्रसारण। शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में, ग्रामीण पशुओं और पक्षियों के पैशेंटों की किटनाशक बीमारियों पर विभिन्न पाठ्यक्रम छात्रों को सिखाए जाते हैं, जो स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर कार्यक्रमों को पूरा करने के लिए होते हैं। स्नातकोत्तर छात्रों, जैसे कि एम.वी.सी. और पी.एच.डी., को भी मार्गदर्शन किया जाता है और उन्हें संबंधित डिग्री प्रदान की जाती है। अनुसंधान क्षेत्र में, मुख्य रूप से तीन उप-विज्ञान जैसे पशुरोगी हेल्मिनथोलॉजी, पशुरोगी कीटतत्वज्ञान और पशुरोगी प्रोटोजोलॉजी में विभिन्न अनुसंधान गतिविधियाँ की जाती हैं। विभिन्न पशुरोगी बीमारियों की प्रचलनता, पाठोजनता, उपचार और नियंत्रण भी खोजी जाती हैं और क्षेत्र में उपयुक्त दवाओं के साथ-साथ अन्य प्रतिबंधात्मक उपायों की सिफारिश की जाती हैं। प्रसारण के क्षेत्र में, विभाग द्वारा हर साल किसान मेला में भागीदारी की जाती है और मेले में किसानों के प्रश्नों का समाधान किया जाता है। विभिन्न ग्रामीण गांवों में पशुरोगी बीमारियों के नियंत्रण के लिए विभिन्न क्लिनिकल शिविरों का आयोजन किया जाता है। मौसमिक घटनाओं के बारे में सामान्य जागरूकता, डीवर्मिंग कार्यक्रम आदि किसानों को संबोधित किया जाता है। समय-समय पर पशुओं और पक्षियों की सबसे आम पशुरोगी बीमारियों पर रेडियो और टीवी वार्ताओं को भी प्रस्तुत किया जाता है। किसानों, महिलाओं, पशुचिकित्सकों और सैन्य व्यक्तियों के प्रशिक्षण में व्याख्यान दिया जाता है। विभिन्न राज्य स्तरीय और राष्ट्रीय स्तरीय पत्रिकाओं में लोकप्रिय लेख प्रकाशित किए जाते हैं।
