Dairy Engineering

About Department
Dairy Engineering Department is one of the major Departments of College of Dairy Science and Technology. Department offers M.Tech. in Dairy Engineering; besides offering course related to Dairy Engineering stream at undergraduate (B. Tech. Dairy Technology) level. The main aim of Department is to empower graduates and postgraduates students and to create Human Resource with excellence in Dairy Engineering so that it can meet the technological demand of Dairy Industries. Besides teaching, Department is doing need base research in the area of developing small scale equipments for the manufacture of indigenous dairy products. The division is also exploring more tie-ups with equipment manufacturers and users for their collaboration in development or in adoption of the developed equipment. Department has established “Dudh Ki Chakki” which is a Milk Processing Demonstration cum Exhibition Van which demonstrate as well as process the milk at the door step of farmers. The aim of Dhoodh ki Chakki is to spread the awareness among farmers about the value added dairy products and to motivate them to become entrepreneur. Department is involved various extension activities like it conducts various training programmes, provides consultancy services and formulate package of practices in the area of milk processing technologies to disseminate scientific knowledge to the end-user
