Veterinary Microbiology

  • Antibiotic sensitivity testing of clinical isolates

  • Latex agglutination test for diagnosis of Trypanosoma evansi infection in domestic animals (In collaboration with Department of Veterinary Parasitology)

  • PCR –based diagnostic tests for hemoprotozoa infections (In collaboration with Department of Veterinary Parasitology)

  • PCR –based diagnostic tests for hemorrhagic septicemia (In collaboration with Department of Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology)

Animal Biotechnology

Training programmes: Department of Animal Biotechnology organizes two short term hands on training course during the months of November and February. The department charges Rs. 5,000/- per training per trainee. The department also organizes summer training upto 3 months.

DNA Sequences Facility: The Department of Animal Biotechnology is providing DNA Sequencing facility to the Haryana State, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, general public and farmers on charge basis. (Hyperlinked at Annexure 1)

Samples Testing Facility: The Department of Animal Biotechnology is providing diagnostic service to the Haryana State, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying and farmers to test its breeding bulls for Bluetongue virus and Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus. This test is essential to use the bull in progeny testing as well as dissemination of the germplasm for the superior bulls. Charges are Rs. 500 for cases/samples presented at TVCSC/deptt. by the farmers/other Deptt. of HAU and Rs. 750 for for cases/samples from outside agencies.
