Major Achievements of Directorate of Extension Education
  • Directorate of extension education has organized two Animal Husbandry Officer’s Workshops on 1-2 December, 2014 and 5-6 January, 2019.
  • The Directorate of Extension Education organized a Farm Women Meet and Exhibition on 29 March, 2015 which was very enthusiastically attended by about 800 women from different parts of Haryana. Chaudhary Birender Singh, Honourable Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
  • Directorate of Extension Education organized a function at village Makosharani, Sirsa under project entitled Up gradation of knowledge and skill of Scheduled Castes and Tribes women and youths to increase livestock Productivity. In this function more than 600 trainees/farmers participated. A Clinical camp was also organized in that function.
  • LUVAS organized a huge Pashu Vigyan Mela and Clinical Camp on 23 – 24 October 2015 at village Keorak (Kaithal). Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Manohar Lal, inaugurated the mela.
  • The Directorate of Extension Education, LUVAS organized a Seminar on ‘GauSamvardhan in National Perspective’. Major Kartar Singh, Vr C (Retd), a prominent social worker, Chief Guest on the occasion.
  • A ‘Pashupalakgoshthi’ was organised at village Kheri Chopta on 17.05.17. More than 300 dairy farmers participated in the event.
  • Directorate of Extension Education regularly organizes unit level pashu mela (clinical camps) new technologies are displayed as well as treatment facilities are provided for animals.
  • Special programmes on world veterinary day, world zoonosis day, world rabies day and other important days are also organized by the directorate for benefit of farming community as well as for school children.
  • The University regularly publishes technical updates and other knowhow for the farmers in its half yearly magazine ‘Pashudhan Gyan’. This magazine is registered with the Registrar, Newspaper of India.
  • In addition to this various Hindi booklets and Pashupalak Calender (for monthly activities) are also published by the university. Directorate has developed Snake & ladder game and breeding calendars of cow & buffalo for easy and better understanding of animal husbandry practices by farmers.
  • The directorate regularly organizes vocational dairy farming, poultry farming, pig farming and sheep & goat farming training programmes for farmers, unemployed youth, women and underprivileged sections of the society. These traninings are conducted at the campus, PVKs and HPVKs of LUVAS. More than 35 thousands candidates have been trained by this directorate.
  • The Livestock Technology Information Centre (LTIC) has been established that serves as a single window delivery system for the information, services and products developed from this University to the needy farmers.
  • For benefit of farmers, free SMS service and Pashupalak call centre facilities are also run by the directorate.
