ABOUT IQAC

In pursuance of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up gradation of institutions of higher education, the NAAC proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of an institution’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The IQAC was established at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) on 13.11.2013 vide Registrar Endst. No. F/2013/7210-20. As per the latest guidelines of UGC, the IQAC LUVAS was reconstituted on 06.12.2023 vide Endst. No. DHRM/2023/2837. The purpose of IQAC is to ensure quality of teaching, learning skills, infrastructure and facilities. The IQAC interacts with students, teachers and administration to ensure co-ordination for quality maintenance. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of an institution’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions. The IQAC will make a significant and meaningful contribution in the post-accreditation phase of institutions. During the post-accreditation period, the IQAC will channelize the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence.

VISION of IQAC

  • To make education the defining element of higher education in India through a combination of self and external quality evaluation, promotion, sustenance initiatives

MISSION

  • To arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of institutes of Higher education
  • To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality teaching-learning and research in higher education institutions
  • To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations in higher education
  • To undertake quality related research studies and training programmes
  • To collaborate with other stakeholders of higher education for quality evaluation promotion and sustenance.

 

The IQAC shall have the following functions:

  • Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality related institutional processes
  • Organization of inter and intra University workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities of the University, leading to quality improvement
  • Development of Quality Culture in University
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the University based on the quality parameters/assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body
  • Prepare annual calendar of activities of the University
  • Organization of capacity building programmes for teaching and other staff members
  • Student progress and support services like Anti ragging cell, sexual harassment cell, Grievance and redressel cell, etc.
